Do you clean Persian and hand-knotted rugs?
Yes. We identify the fibre and test dye stability before cleaning, then use controlled moisture at a temperature and pH suited to the rug. Fringes are cleaned by hand. Hand-knotted, silk and vegetable-dyed rugs are the ones most often damaged by a general carpet method, so they get a different process.
Can you clean a rug without taking it away?
In most cases yes, we clean on site with protective sheeting so no moisture reaches your floorboards. Some heavily soiled or delicate rugs are better cleaned off site, and we will tell you which applies before we start rather than after.
Will cleaning damage my polished timber floors?
No. Rugs are lifted or cleaned over protective sheeting and we use low-moisture extraction, so water does not sit on or seep under the boards. This matters more in inner Melbourne than anywhere else because so many homes are timber throughout.
My terrace has a narrow staircase. Is that a problem?
No. Victorian and Edwardian staircases are too narrow for dragged equipment, so we clean stairs and runners with hand tools. It is slower but it is the only way to do it without marking the walls or the timber.
There is no off-street parking at my place.
That is normal for us. We work in permit zones, laneways and narrow streets across Richmond, Fitzroy, South Yarra and St Kilda every week, and there is no parking surcharge added to your quote.
Can you clean velvet or linen upholstery?
Yes. We identify the fabric and check the manufacturer code first, test on a hidden section, then use a method rated for it. Velvet, linen and boucle each need different moisture levels, and some fabrics are dry-clean only, which we will tell you at the quote stage.
Can you do an end of lease clean at short notice?
Often on the same day, subject to availability. Inner Melbourne tenancies turn over constantly, so we prioritise bond cleans and supply a receipt you can give your agent or property manager.
