A modular has more hidden surface than you think
Berwick homes tend to have the big L-shaped or U-shaped lounges that suit a large open living space. They’re comfortable and they look good — but structurally they create a lot of concealed fabric. Every join between two modules is a vertical channel that runs the full depth of the sofa, and every one of those channels collects crumbs, hair, dust and spilled liquid.
Nobody cleans them, because you can’t. A vacuum nozzle doesn’t reach into a join, and separating the modules to get at it feels like a bigger job than it’s worth. So the soil just accumulates in the one part of the sofa that never gets touched — and it’s usually the source when a lounge smells faintly stale despite looking clean.
We clean the whole piece, not the top of it
Base, back, arms, cushions — and the parts you can’t see.
Modules separated, the concealed faces cleaned, then reassembled. This is where the smell usually lives.
Cushion undersides and the deck beneath them, not just the surface people sit on.
Where body oils concentrate heaviest, and where the darkening is always worst.
Worth doing before you decide it’s finished
There’s a quick test. Lift a cushion and compare the fabric underneath to the surface beside it — that protected fabric is roughly the colour the sofa started as. If there’s a clear difference, what you’re seeing is soil rather than wear, and soil comes out. On a large suite that difference is often worth several thousand dollars in deferred replacement.
Curtains and mattresses, same visit
Curtains are cleaned on the rod — nothing unhooked, nothing rehung, and no shrinkage risk, which is what happens in a home machine when lining and face fabric shrink at different rates. Mattresses get a steam clean plus anti-dust-mite treatment. Both cost less booked alongside the couch than as separate call-outs.

Couch & upholstery cleaning Berwick — FAQs
How much does couch cleaning cost in Berwick?
Couches and upholstery are $40 per seat with a minimum call-out of $120. A modular is priced by the seat however it is arranged – a six-seat L-shape is six seats, and chaise sections and corner wedges count as one seat each. That means you know the number before we arrive.
Do you clean between the modules on a sectional?
Yes, and it is usually the most important part. Every join between two modules is a vertical channel running the full depth of the sofa, collecting crumbs, hair, dust and spilled liquid. A vacuum nozzle cannot reach into a join, so it is the one part of the sofa that never gets touched – and it is usually the source when a lounge smells faintly stale despite looking clean. We separate the modules, clean the concealed faces and reassemble.
How do I know if my sofa is worth cleaning rather than replacing?
Lift a cushion and compare the fabric underneath to the exposed surface beside it. The protected fabric is roughly the colour your sofa started as, and a clear difference means soil rather than wear – which comes out. On a large suite that difference is often worth several thousand dollars in deferred replacement.
Can you clean recliners and sofa beds?
Yes, priced per seat like any other upholstery. We work around the frames and mechanisms properly rather than treating them as a flat surface.
Is it safe to clean upholstery myself?
It is riskier than carpet. Check the tag for the cleaning code first: W is water-safe, S is solvent only, WS is either, X is vacuum only. Water on an S-coded fabric leaves a permanent ring, and because upholstery is fabric over foam, over-wetting soaks the foam and takes days to dry.
Can you do curtains and mattresses at the same time?
Yes, and it costs less than separate call-outs. Curtains are cleaned on the rod so nothing is unhooked or rehung and there is no shrinkage risk, and mattresses get a steam clean plus anti-dust-mite treatment.
Do you cover Officer, Pakenham and Narre Warren?
Yes. We cover Berwick, Beaconsfield, Officer, Pakenham, Narre Warren and Clyde North at the same rates – there is no travel surcharge between suburbs.
Big sectional in Berwick?
Cleaned through the joins, priced per seat, dry in hours. Fixed price upfront, seven days a week.
